Elements of a transistorized ignition system

Order of execution
1. Disconnect wire from «negative» battery terminals.
2. Disconnect the high voltage wires from the distributor cap.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum corrector.
4. Disconnect the sensor connector.
5. Set the crankshaft to the top dead center position. piston of the 1st cylinder, corresponding to the compression stroke (cm. subsection 3.2.2.1).
6. Loosen the holder mounting bolt and remove the holder.
7. Pull up the ignition distributor and remove the gasket.
8. Install the ignition distributor in reverse order. Replace gasket before installation. After installing the distributor, adjust the ignition.
9. If the distributor was removed and before that you did not note and did not remember its position (the crankshaft has been turned, etc.), you can proceed as follows. Set the crankshaft to the top dead center position. piston of the 1st cylinder of the compression stroke.
10. Remove the distributor cover, turn the slider so that the contact center of the slider is aligned with the mark on the distributor housing.
11. Insert the distributor into the hole in the block (head) cylinders, turn slightly clockwise. When the distributor drive gear engages, the distributor will sit in place and the slider will again align with the mark. Screw in and tighten the distributor mounting bolts.
