Execution order
1. Remove the oil pan (see pp. 1–5 of subsection 3.1.2.13).
2. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the oil pump with the oil receiver.
3. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the pump cover.
4. Remove the drive shaft and the pump drive gear.
5. Remove the oil receiver and take out the mesh filter.
6. Wash all pump parts in gasoline.
7. Check the clearance between the gear teeth as shown in the figure on the left. The nominal clearance is 0.05 mm, the maximum allowable is 0.2 mm. Check the clearance between the gear and the pump body, it should be 0.15 mm. Check the axial clearance of the gears as shown in the figure on the right. It should be no more than 0.15 mm.
8. After replacing defective parts, lubricate all pump parts with engine oil.
9. Assemble and install the pump in reverse order.
