As a result of this adjustment, the throttle should be in the closed position with the accelerator pedal not depressed, and the gearshift control should be in the stop position.
Warm up the engine to operating temperature (before opening the air damper on cars with carburetor engines).
Leave the engine to idle.
Disconnect the throttle linkage.
Depending on the vehicle configuration, disconnect the links of the program speed controller.
Set the intermediate lever to the stop position, while the throttle valve should be closed.
Install the throttle control linkage adjusted for easy, effortless travel. Adjust the length of the link rod so that it attaches to the intermediate lever and to the shift control lever freely without force. Disconnect the tie rod from the transmission side.
Fully depress the accelerator pedal and leave it in this position.
Disconnect the return spring.
Move the shift control lever to the forced shift reverse position.
Attach the return spring and throttle control link rod.
Check for correct operation of the throttle and forced reverse shift system.
