The control piston in the fuel dispenser is connected to the retaining damper. The piston opens the channel for the fuel to exit and thereby determines the amount of injection. Difficult piston stroke causes the engine to start poorly, pull jerkily during transients, and/or not achieve maximum power.
Remove the air duct cover.
Turn on the starter or the auxiliary pump control button for 10 seconds.
Raise the retaining flap adjusting lever, the lever must move with the same resistance all the way.
Move the adjusting lever quickly down without any resistance being felt, otherwise replace the air quantity meter.
If the damper is heavy and / or jerks only moves up and down easily, the control piston is seized. Replace fuel dispenser.
If the damper moves up and down heavily and/or jerkily, the adjustment lever is difficult to move. Replace the air quantity meter.
