The ignition system is non-contact, including a distribution sensor with a built-in electronic control impulse sensor, a high-energy ignition coil and a switch.
Ignition distributor
Bosch branded ignition distributor, shielded, four-spark, with vacuum and centrifugal ignition timing controllers, with a high-voltage current distributor with axial leads, with a built-in microelectronic sensor (generator) control pulses with a change in the phase angle of the resulting voltage. It is driven by a helical gear of the intermediate shaft. Direction of rotation left (camshaft drive side). The voltage generated by the generator sensor is in the range of 0-2 V. The resistance of the distributor rotor (marking «R1»), Ohm: 1000.

Note. When using unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 95, it is recommended to reduce the initial ignition timing to TDC to 10°± 1°.

Switch
The switch converts the control pulses of the generator sensor into current pulses in the primary winding of the ignition coil. It is installed in the passenger compartment, under the left bottom trim next to the engine hood lock drive handle and has a seven-plug connector (plug №7 reserve). 1.5 s after the stop of the ignition distribution sensor roller, a special switch circuit smoothly breaks the ignition coil power supply circuit, preventing sparking. This prevents excessive heating of the ignition coil with a low primary resistance value.

Spark plug
From model year 1986 on vehicles with engines «WH», «WC». «KR», «KU» candles with an extended service life were installed. which are replaced after 30,000 km, and not after 15,000 km, as before.

Gap between electrodes, mm 0.8±0.1.
Ignition coil

High voltage wires
High voltage wires are equipped with anti-interference lugs.

Model engine «NF»
Model engine ignition system «NF» fully electronic type VEZ from Bosch. It consists of an ignition distributor, a crankshaft angle sensor, spark plugs, an ignition coil and an electronic control unit. The system does not require any adjustments in operation.
Initial ignition timing at idle to TDC: 15°±1°.
