2. Before removing the rear bushing, remove the rear oil seal, then remove the bushing from the front end of the housing.
3. Insert the new bushing into the rear of the housing and drive it in to the casting level using a block.
4. Install the new gland with the open end of the insulation facing inward.
5. The procedure for removing and installing the front bushing is similar, except that there is no oil seal in front and you also need to note the location of the bushing.
6. Lubricate the bushings and the seal lip with transmission oil before installing the shift rod.
