In order to ensure reliable operation of the vehicle during the entire period of operation, it is necessary to carry out maintenance in a timely manner. The manufacturer has established the frequency of maintenance listed below.
If the vehicle is operated in severe conditions, such as dusty conditions, with a trailer, at low speeds or over short distances, it is recommended to perform maintenance more frequently.
Weekly or every 400 km
It is necessary to check:
- engine oil level;
- coolant level;
- brake fluid level;
- presence of fluid in the windshield washer reservoir;
- glow plug indicator lamp performance (diesel engines);
- condition of the battery, tires, windshield wipers and all lamps.
Oil change service
Change engine oil. Replace oil filter.
Check the thickness of the front and rear brake shoe linings.
Maintenance every 12 months Inspections–Service
Change engine oil. Replace oil filter.
Check the exhaust system for secure fastening, absence of leaks and damage.
Perform a control inspection to check the engine for leaks and damage.
Output information from the memory of control units of all systems tested in self-diagnostic mode.
Check the thickness of the front and rear brake shoe linings.
Check that the brake fluid level corresponds to the actual wear of the brake pads.
Perform a control inspection to check the brake system for leaks and damage.
Perform a control inspection to check the gearbox, final drive and cardan joint protective covers for leaks and damage.
Check the constant velocity joint boots for leaks and damage.
Check the electrolyte level in the battery. If necessary, add distilled water.
Check the play in the tie rod ends, as well as the reliability of their fastening and the condition of the covers.
Check the remaining tread depth and wear pattern on all tires, including the spare tire. Check and, if necessary, adjust the air pressure in the tires.
Lubricate the door latches and mounting pins.
On a vehicle with a diesel engine, drain the water from the fuel filter.
Check the coolant level and density.
Check the serviceability of the lighting devices, direction indicators, hazard warning lights and trunk light.
Check the interior and glove compartment lighting, as well as the horn and indicator lights.
Perform a control inspection to check the front airbags for external damage.
Check the operation and adjustment of the windshield wiper, windshield washer, headlight washer and headlight washer system (if they exist). If necessary, adjust the injectors and add fluid to the system's filling tank.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the installation of the brushes in the initial position and the angular position of the windshield wiper arms.
Operations performed in addition to the Inspection Service regulations every 30,000 km
Clean the hatch guides and lubricate them with silicone grease.
Replace the pollen filter.
Check the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) level. Top up if necessary.
Check the oil level in the main gear case of the automatic transmission. If necessary, add transmission oil.
On a diesel engine, replace fuel filter.
Check the oil level in the gearbox and in the main gear housing. If necessary, add oil.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the headlights.
Perform a control inspection to check the protective coating of the underbody for damage.
Operations performed in addition to the Inspection Service regulations according to the previous lists every 60,000 km
Wash the air filter housing and replace the filter element.
Check the level of working fluid in the power steering drive, top up fluid if necessary.
Operations performed in addition to the Inspection Service regulations according to the previous lists every 60,000 km or 3 years
Replace spark plugs.
Operations performed every 60,000 km or 4 years in addition to the Inspection Service regulations according to the previous lists
Change the oil in the automatic transmission.
Additional operations performed every 2 years
Replace brake fluid.
Wash the air filter housing and replace the filter element (for cars with mileage less than 60,000 km within 2 years).
Replace coolant (only cars with V8 engines).
Additional operations performed every 3 years in addition to the operations performed every 2 years
Check and adjust the content of harmful substances in exhaust gases.
Operations performed in addition to the Inspection Service regulations every 120,000 km
Replace the poly V-belt (only cars with V8 engines).
Replace the timing belt (only cars with V8 engines).
Irregular maintenance can cause poor engine performance. In this case, you should do the following:
- clean, inspect and test the battery;
- check oil and coolant levels, top up if necessary;
- replace spark plugs (petrol engines;
- check the condition and tension of the auxiliary drive belt;
- check the condition of the air filter and replace if necessary;
- check the condition of all hoses (pipes) and their tightness;
- check the condition of the distributor cap and rotor and high-voltage wires (gasoline engines).
If these steps are not effective, try the following:
- check the electrical system;
- check the ignition system;
- check the engine preheating system;
- check the power supply system,
- replace the distributor cap and rotor;
- replace high voltage wires.
