The following maintenance plan is a list of required maintenance and the intervals at which they should be performed. Where applicable, these procedures are described in more detail in the Guide in Chapter 2 of each Section.
Vehicles operated in adverse conditions (e.g. in extreme temperatures, daily trailer towing, or mostly short distances) it is recommended to service more often than indicated. If in doubt, consult an Audi dealer.
Weekly, or before a long trip
- Check engine oil level
- Check coolant level
- Check tire pressures (cold), including spare
- Fill up the tank (ki) washer
Every 15,000 km
- Change engine oil and oil filter
- Check brake pad wear
Every 12 months
- Check engine leaks
- Check for leaks from the cooling system
- Check antifreeze density
- Check idle speed and CO content
- Check for leaks from the exhaust system
- Check the condition of the clutch hydraulic line and leaks
- Check clutch fluid level
- Check gearbox condition and leaks
- Check fluid level in automatic transmission and final drive
- Check the rubber boots of the CV joint
- Check the condition of the hydraulic line of the brake system and leaks
- Check rear brake shoe pads for wear
- Check brake fluid level
- Check the tie rod ends
- Check the lower ball joints of the front suspension
- Check your tires
- Lubricate the curtains and locks of the doors and hood
- Check the operation of the lights and horn
- Check the wiper and washer system check the electrolyte level in the battery
- Check headlight adjustment
Every 24 months
All 12-month schedule plus:
- Replace coolant
- Change brake fluid
Every 30,000 km
- Check water pump drive belt tension (4 cylinder engine)
- Replace the fuel filter in the fuel line on carbureted engines
- Replace the air filter element
- Replace spark plugs
- Change transmission fluid
- Check Power Steering Fluid Level
- Check and adjust power steering pump drive belt
- Check and adjust A/C compressor drive belt
- Lubricate sunroof guides
- Check bottom seal
- Check alternator drive belt
Every 60,000 km
- Replace Timing Belt
