For safety reasons, some specific work on the engine and chassis should only be carried out at service stations. In addition, independent, often incorrect, adjustment of the ignition or fuel injection system may cause increased fuel consumption and exceeding the permissible emission standards for exhaust gases.
Warning: When working in the engine compartment, be extremely careful. The risk of injury comes primarily from rotating components and mechanisms (v-belt drive, electric radiator fan, etc.), from electrical equipment (short ignition, ignition coil high voltage), from hot surfaces and from high pressure in the cooling system. Therefore, all safety requirements of this manual must be strictly observed.
Platform lift
Before driving onto the platform, make sure there is enough distance between the bottom and the platform and that you will not hit it.
The lifting device stops must be installed only in specially designated places on the bottom of the vehicle. See the figure.
Lifting machine
The lift gripping paws are also installed only in these places. To prevent dents, it is recommended to use intermediate rubber pads between the lift stops and the bottom.
Lifting by the engine sump, gearbox cover, rear or front axle is not permitted.
The places where the lift paws rest on the bottom at the front and rear are marked with special signs (see photo).

Caution: When using the lifting machine, its gripping jaws must not touch the suspension trailing arm mount - otherwise, the wheel suspension guide mechanism may be damaged.
