Throttle cable

Removal

1. Guided by Section 11, remove the trim panel under the steering column.

2. Release the cable from the fasteners and disconnect it from the upper part of the gas pedal.

3. In the engine compartment, remove the mounting bracket and disconnect the end of the cable from the intermediate lever.

4. Release the cable housing from the bracket and bulkhead, then remove the cable assembly from the engine compartment. If necessary, the clutch rod can be disconnected from the high-pressure fuel pump and intermediate lever.

Installation and adjustment

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, but before installing the cable, adjust the rod as follows. First install the rod, then loosen the adjustment nut in the center of the rod so that each part of the rod can move independently. Align the adjustment holes on the fuel pump lever and the intermediate lever using a 3.5 mm drill bit, then tighten the adjustment nut. Remove the drill bit.

6. Install the cable and adjust as follows: In the intermediate lever near the high-pressure fuel pump, adjust the position of the cable housing in the bracket by inserting a metal bracket into one of the grooves so that when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed, the gas lever should touch the limiter.

Cold start cable

Removal

7. Turn the cold start knob counterclockwise as far as possible.

8. In the engine compartment, loosen the clamp nut securing the cable to the end, then release the cable from the holders in the engine compartment.

9. Inside the vehicle, remove the panel to gain access to the cable.

10. After releasing the cable from the holders, remove it inside the passenger compartment.

Installation

11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, but adjust it as follows. After turning the adjustment handle completely counterclockwise, connect the cable to the end so that there is no play or tension on the cable on the lever side of the fuel pump, then tighten the nut.
