1. If there is play in the steering gear, causing noise or rattling, the steering gear should be adjusted as follows (see fig. 10.25).
2. With the wheels in the straight ahead position, turn the adjusting bolt clockwise approximately 20°.
3. Check the car in motion, the steering should not be hard. If the steering does not self-center, slightly loosen the bolt (counterclock-wise). If the steering still rattles, tighten the bolt further.
