The engine is provided with oil by means of a circulating lubrication system. The countershaft driven gear pump is located at the bottom of the engine sump. All engines have an oil cooler mounted under the oil filter. It is provided with coolant through the hose and cools the oil passing through it. The oil pump drive gear also drives the ignition distributor (some car models), however, instead of the distributor mounted on the side of the cylinder block, a plug is installed. which is attached with a metal fastener. The connection is sealed with an O-ring.
