Disconnect the wire from the control lamp switch
An Audi pressure gauge is used to check the oil pressure. You need to do the following:
Unscrew the control lamp switch and screw in the VAG-1342 pressure gauge used by VW / Audi.
1 blue wire
2 Brown wire
3 LED VAG 1527
4 Pressure gauge
Connect brown wire (2) With "weight".
Push in the blue wire (1) to the indicator light switch.
Connect LED (3) or a test lamp on the wire (1) with negative battery terminal (AB).
Turn on the ignition.
Check if the lamp lights up. If not, the switch needs to be replaced.
Start the engine and observe the pressure gauge. At values of 1.2-1.6 bar, the test lamp should go out. Otherwise, replace the switch.
Oil pressure check
Unscrew the oil pressure warning light switch and screw it into the pressure gauge.
Start the engine and check that the pressure gauge reading is between 1.0 and 2.5 bar when the engine is idling. The temperature must be at least 80°C.
Bring the number of revolutions to 3000 rpm. The oil pressure should rise to 3-5 bar for 4 and 5-cylinder engines and to 4.5-6.0 bar for 6-cylinder engines.
If the indicated values are not reached, then the cause of the low pressure must be found.
