Checking oil pressure and oil pressure sensor (Audi A2)

Oil level is normal. Engine oil temperature is approximately 80°C. Remove oil pressure sensor "F1". Connect a pressure gauge to measure oil pressure "V.A.G 1342" to the oil pressure sensor hole. Screw the oil pressure sensor "2" into the oil pressure gauge "V.A.G 1342".



Connect the brown wire "1" of the oil pressure gauge to ground (-). Connect the voltage tester "VAG 1527B" with auxiliary wires from the auxiliary tool kit "VAG 1594C" to the oil pressure sensor and the positive terminal of the battery (+). The LED should not light. If the LED is already lit, replace the oil pressure sensor. Start the engine.

Instructions: Observe the LED of the probe and the tester during engine start-up, since the sensor response pressure may already be reached in the starting mode.

At excess pressure of 0.55...0.85 bar the LED should light up. The LED does not light up, replace the pressure sensor, oil.

Checking the oil pressure: Start the engine. Oil pressure at 2000 rpm minimum 2.0 bar overpressure.
