Removal
Remove the hood. If present, loosen the bracket. Remove the engine cover. Remove the sound insulation underneath. Loosen the "arrow" cover a few turns, allowing the contents of the oil filter housing to drain into the oil pan.
Remove the dipstick from the guide tube. Remove the dipstick guide tube "1". Remove the oil filler tube "2" from the oil filler tank. Unfasten the wiring on the oil filter bracket.
Loosen the "arrow" bolt of the oil dipstick guide tube fitting.
Remove the sound insulation. Disconnect the plug connector of the oil pressure sensor "F1" pos. "1". Place a waste oil collection unit under the engine "V.A.G 1782". Unscrew the oil pressure sensor. Remove the oil line for pre-supply of oil to the turbocharger "2" from the bracket of the oil filter. Ignore pos. "3".
Loosen the coolant supply hose clamps on the oil radiator "3094" and remove the hoses "arrows".
Unscrew the "arrow" bolts and remove the oil filter bracket.
Installation
Installation is in reverse order, replacing the gaskets, O-rings and O-rings. Use clamps of the appropriate series to secure all hose connections. Fill with oil and check its level.
Tightening torques:
- Oil filter bracket on cylinder block: 14 Nm + 90° 1)
- Oil dipstick guide tube fitting to oil filter bracket: 9 Nm
- Oil pre-supply line to oil filter bracket: 22 Nm
- Oil pressure sensor to oil filter bracket: 20 Nm
- Oil dipstick guide tube fitting to oil pan: 9 Nm
- Engine compartment cover to bracket: 5.5 Nm
1) Replace the bolts.
