To check the crankcase pressure on the 2.5-I-TDI engine, the VA G 1371 measuring device must be used.
High crankcase pressure leads to engine oil losses. Therefore, crankcase pressure should be checked as part of maintenance and also when oil leaks occur.
Warm up the engine until the engine oil temperature is over +80°C.
Remove the oil dipstick and replace it with the VAG 1371 measuring device and press it firmly.
With the engine running at idle speed, take measurements for 3 minutes.
If the crankcase gas pressure is more than 5 mbar, the crankcase gas filter with seal must be replaced. This work must be carried out at a service station.
