The knock sensor is checked by interrogating the fault memory (see also chapter "Regular maintenance"). There are no other options for checking. However, a faulty knock sensor can also be detected by a strong ringing knock during acceleration.
When installing a new sensor, be sure to tighten the mounting bolt to the correct torque of 20 Nm.
