Withdrawal
1. Install front wheel chocks.
2. Loosen the rear wheel bolts.
3. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle.
4. Completely unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the rear wheel.
5. Remove brake disc (cm. subsection 10.6).
6. Knock off the protective cap of the hub nut with a hammer with a rubber tip.
7. Remove the cotter pin and remove the hub nut retainer.
8. Loosen the hub nut and remove the adjusting washer.
9. Carefully remove the hub, the hub bearings may fall out.
10. Remove the outer bearing from the hub.
11. From the inside of the hub, remove the oil seal and inner bearing, if they are not left on the trunnion.
12. If it is necessary to replace the bearings, press the outer rings out of the hub with a copper drift.
Installation
1. Using appropriate drifts, press the outer races of both bearings into the hub. When doing this, pay attention to the fact that the larger diameters of the outer rings must be directed towards the inside of the hub.
2. Install the inner bearing in the corresponding outer race in the hub, pre-lubricated with grease.
3. Press the oil seal into the hub flush with the end face, the outer edge of which should be directed inside the hub.
4. Put grease into the inner cavity of the hub and install the hub on the pin.
5. Install the outer bearing into the hub, pre-lubricated with grease.
6. Install the adjusting washer and tighten the hub nut.
7. Install brake disc.
8. Install the wheel and tighten the bolts of its fastening.
9. Adjust wheel bearings (cm. subsection 8.2.5).
10. Fill the hub nut guard two thirds full with grease and press it into place using a suitable drift. Wrinkled and cracked protective caps must be replaced (to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the hub).
11. Lower the vehicle onto the wheels and tighten the wheel bolts evenly to 110 Nm (11.0 kgf·m).
