Parking brake

Replacing the parking brake cable (models with rear drum brakes)
1. Install support blocks under the front wheels.
2. Loosen the rear wheel mounting bolts.
3. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle.
4. Remove the wheel.
5. Remove the rear brake shoe and disconnect the cable end from the drive lever (see Fig. Rear wheel drum brake mechanism).
6. Loosen the adjusting nut and disconnect the cable from the equalizer.
7. Disconnect the holder from the longitudinal arm and remove the cable, removing the seal from the longitudinal arm.
8. Install the new cable in reverse order.
9. After installation, adjust the parking brake.
