Applying the parking brake
- The parking brake is tightened by moving the lever up to the stop.
Removing the parking brake
- Pull the lever slightly up and simultaneously press the release button -arrow-.
- Push the lever all the way down while pressing the button.
The parking brake lever must always be fully tightened so that it is impossible to move off without forgetting to release the parking brake.
When the parking brake is applied and the ignition is on, the handbrake warning lamp is on.
Attention. Make sure the car is fully released from the parking brake. A partially released parking brake can cause the rear brakes to overheat and thus adversely affect the function of the brake system - risk of accident!
Carefully. After stopping the car, always first apply the parking brake to the stop, and then additionally engage the gear of the manual gearbox, and if there is an automatic transmission, the parking lock "R".

To avoid involuntary movement of a parked vehicle, follow the rules below.
- Stop the vehicle with the foot brake pedal.
- Apply the parking brake fully.
- Stop the engine.
- Engage 1st gear of the manual transmission, and if there is an automatic transmission, the parking lock "R".
Additionally when parking on hills and slopes
Turn the steering wheel so that the car, in case of involuntary movement, rests on the curb stone.
Attention
- No one should remain in a locked car - especially children, because. doors and windows do not open from the inside. Locked doors prevent the occupants from being assisted in an emergency - danger to life!
- Never leave children unattended in a car. Children can, for example, release the parking brake or disengage a gear, causing the car to start moving - risk of accident!
