Recommended all-season typical setting:
- set the temperature to 22°C (71°F) And
- press the AUTO key.
This setting ensures the fastest possible creation of a comfortable microclimate in the cabin. Therefore, it makes sense to deviate from it only if it is dictated by one's own well-being.
The air conditioner is a combination of heater, fan and cooler operating in automatic mode. The air conditioner reduces humidity and cools the air in the cabin.
The conditioner completely automatically maintains a uniform microclimate in inside of the car. To do this, the temperature of the air entering through the supply ducts is automatically changed, as well as its mass flow (quantity) and distribution of air flows. The air conditioner also responds to strong sunlight and therefore no manual adjustments are required. For this reason, the automatic mode is in almost all cases the best way to feel good in the car at any time of the year.
Please remember the following:
In cooling mode, the humidity in the passenger compartment decreases. This prevents the glasses from fogging up.
When the outdoor temperature and humidity are high, condensed water may drip from the evaporator, forming a puddle under the machine. This is normal and is not a sign of depressurization!
In cold weather, the fan turns on only after the coolant has warmed up to the desired temperature. The exception is the heated windshield.
When starting off abruptly with the accelerator pedal fully depressed, the air conditioning compressor is switched off for a while to realize full engine power.
The compressor shuts down when the coolant temperature is too high to allow normal engine cooling under extreme load conditions.
Pollutant filter
Pollutant filter (composed of a particulate filter and an activated carbon filter) significantly reduces the amount of dust, pollen, gases, etc. contained in the outdoor air.
Change the filter element of the pollutant filter according to the service book in order to prevent loss of air conditioner power.
If the filter wears out prematurely as a result of vehicle operation in areas with high air pollution, it may be necessary to replace the filter element more often than indicated in the service book.
Note. The air conditioner operates most efficiently when the sunroof is closed and the windows are up. If, however, the air in the passenger compartment has warmed up as a result of a long period of parking in the sun, then lowering the windows for a short time before turning on the air conditioner can speed up the cooling process.
The left display is used to display the set temperature on the driver's side, and the right display is used to display the set temperature on the front passenger's side.
All modes of the air conditioner are switched on and off by pressing the keys. When the mode is on, a diode is lit in the corresponding key.
There is a possibility of combined manipulation of the air distributor keys.
AUTO mode
Recommended all-weather typical setting.
Enabling automatic mode
- set the temperature within + 18°С (64°F) up to +29°C (86°F)
- press the AUTO key.
In automatic mode, the set temperature is maintained and the humidity in the cabin is reduced. The temperature, quantity and distribution of air are adjusted automatically, according to the criterion of the fastest achievement and subsequent maintenance of the desired temperature in the cabin.
This ensures automatic response to fluctuations in the outside temperature, as well as to the influence of the sun.
This mode is possible only in the temperature range from +18°С to +29°С. When the set temperature is less than + 18°С, the indication appears on the display "LO". At a temperature of more than +29°C, an indication appears "HI". End positions "LO" And "HI" the system constantly operates in the mode of maximum cooling or heating capacity. There is no temperature control involved.
Temperature control
The interior temperature can be set independently for the driver's and front passenger's sides.
- Press the keys below the left or right displays (+) (-).
The set temperature is set with some time delay.
Heating (defrosting) glasses
Defrosts/defogs the windshield and side windows as quickly as possible.
- To turn on, press the key
- To switch off, press the key or the AUTO key again.
The temperature is controlled automatically. The maximum air supply is carried out mainly through channels 1 and 2.
A small amount of air enters from the side of the grilles 3 (if they are open).
Keystroke recirculation mode and economy mode (ECON) turn off.
Manual recirculation mode
In the recirculation mode, polluted outside air is largely prevented from entering the interior of the vehicle.
Switching on the recirculation mode
- Press a key
Switching off the recirculation mode
- Press the key again or
- Press the AUTO key or
- Press a key
In the recirculation mode, the access of air from the outside is blocked, and its volume is distributed in the cabin in a circle. It is recommended to turn on the recirculation mode in the following situations:
- When driving through a tunnel or traffic jam to prevent outside air from entering the passenger compartment.
Attention. The movement in the recirculation mode should not be too long, because. no fresh air enters the passenger compartment and the windows may fog up when the air conditioner is switched off - risk of accident!
ECO mode ECO
Economy mode helps save fuel.
- To turn on, press the ECON key.
- To switch off, press the ECON key or the AUTO key again.
In ECON·mode, the compressor does not work. The heater and fan function is controlled automatically. "ECON" means "saving". Fuel is saved by switching off the refrigeration unit (compressor).
Remember that in ECON·mode, the interior temperature must not be lower than the outside temperature. Otherwise, the air will not be cooled and its humidity will not decrease. As a result, the windows may fog up.
By switching on the ECON·mode of a diesel vehicle, the auxiliary heater is switched off and thus fuel is saved.
Automatic recirculation mode
The air quality sensor detects an increased concentration of harmful substances in the outdoor air and automatically switches on the recirculation mode.
Switching on the automatic recirculation mode
- Press a key.
Switching off the automatic recirculation mode
- Press the key again
The device is ready for operation 30 seconds after the ignition is switched on / the engine is started. During this period, only fresh air enters the car.
At a high concentration of harmful substances, the air conditioner automatically switches to recirculation mode and thereby blocks the access of outside air to the passenger compartment. When the degree of pollution of the outside air decreases, fresh air begins to flow into the passenger compartment again.
The maximum duration of the automatic recirculation mode is 12 minutes. When the windows fog up, immediately press the button.
Under certain operating conditions (for example, the program position or the automatic recirculation mode is switched off. In ECON·mode and temperatures below -8°C, the automatic recirculation time is limited to twelve (12) seconds.
Switching Temperature Units
The temperature display can be switched from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa.
- Hold down the key and press the plus (+) temperature control button on the left (driver's side).
Turning the air conditioner on and off
Turning off the air conditioner
- Press the fan speed control button as many times as necessary until the segment display disappears. The air conditioner is turned off and the outside air is blocked.
Turning on the air conditioner
- Press the fan speed control button, or
- Press the AUTO key, or
- Press one of the keys or.
In addition, the air conditioner is also switched on again by pressing one of the temperature control buttons.
Fan Speed Correction
The fan speed set automatically can decrease and increase.
- To set the current fan speed (amount of air) press the keys located in the center of the control panel.
The air conditioner automatically adjusts the fan speed depending on the interior temperature. The amount of air can also be adjusted manually as desired. The actual speed is displayed in the form of a segment display located above the display keys.
Air distribution
You can change the automatic air distribution mode.
Both separate and combined key manipulation is possible. If it is necessary to return to the automatic air distribution mode, deactivate the corresponding functions by pressing these keys separately or by pressing the AUTO key.
The function of the three keys is described below. The figures refer to air outlets.
Air supply to glass
The entire air flow is realized through channels 1 and 2. A small amount of air enters from the side of the gratings 3 (if they are open). Unlike mode f, the amount of air does not change.
Air supply from the side of the instrument panel
All air consumption is realized through the supply through grilles 3 and 4 of the instrument panel, as well as the center console at the rear.
Air supply to the footwell
The entire air flow is realized through the supply channels 5 and air outlets under the front seats.
Air release devices
Air supply through air outlets 2, 3 and 4 (front), as well as 3 (behind) can be adjusted as follows:
Supply grilles 2
- The supply grilles are opened and closed by valves located on the sides.
Supply grilles 3 and 4
- The supply grilles are opened and closed by turning the grooved handles located on the sides.
- The direction of the air flow through the grilles is adjusted by shifting the handle located in the center of the corresponding grille in the desired direction. The direction of air flow through the gratings can be adjusted in the vertical and horizontal planes.
The air supply through the devices intended for this is regulated automatically or manually depending on the selected control mode. Any air outlet may supply heated, unheated or cooled fresh air.
The footwell heating air outlets are located under the front seats. These devices are managed together with 5 devices.
Note. When the air conditioner is operating in cooling mode, air flows mainly through channels 3 and 4. In order to effectively cool the passenger compartment, never completely close channels 3 and 4.
Air conditioning and fuel economy
Proper operation of the air conditioner helps to save fuel.
The air conditioner operating in cooling mode reduces engine power and affects fuel consumption. Therefore, to minimize the turn-on time of this mode as much as possible, remember the following:
- To save fuel, turn on the ECON·mode.
- When opening the windows or the sliding/tilting roof panel while moving, switch on the ECON·mode.
- Open the doors and windows for a short time if the vehicle becomes very hot due to exposure to the sun.
Key recognition
When the ignition is turned on, the air conditioner settings programmed into the key are automatically played back.
The current air conditioner settings are programmed automatically and correspond to the key used. When the engine is started, the parameters programmed for this key are automatically reproduced. Thus, each driver can automatically reproduce his preferred setting with his own key, without resorting to a new setting each time.
Note. If another driver uses your key and changes the settings of the air conditioner, then in this case the parameters set by this driver are programmed to your key.
Solar-powered fan/ solar-powered roof panel
When there is sufficient sunlight, the fan continues to run on solar energy in fresh air mode after the ignition is turned off.
After turning off the ignition, the fan automatically switches to power from the solar energy located in the roof panel. Grilles 3 and 4 must be open for optimal ventilation. Ventilation only works when the roof panel is closed/raised.
When the engine is stopped in recirculation mode, the air conditioner automatically switches to fresh air mode.
