Note. Before replacing the rear body rear side member section, it is necessary to check the rear axle geometric characteristics and the rear diagonal length at the control points using a template. If one of these checks gives an unsatisfactory result, install the body on a frame and straighten and replace the deformed rear side member section.
Drill out the contact welding points that attach the side member to the luggage compartment floor. Clean the mating surfaces and install a new part. Weld the side member to the floor using gas-shielded arc welding by welding over the previously made holes and a continuous weld to the gusset and towing unit. If necessary, clean the welding spots with a grinder and straighten the luggage compartment floor. Treat the internal cavities with liquid wax. Restore the protective coating of the bottom.
