Note. A two-piece rear wheel cover is supplied as a spare part. The inner semi-casing is welded directly to the load-bearing frame of the body floor, and the outer one is welded to the wing panel.
Check the geometric characteristics of the body at the control points. Drill out the resistance welding points securing the rear fender and remove the fender (see above). Cut off with a chisel as close as possible to the interface line the part of the semi-casing adjacent to the floor of the luggage compartment, drill out the points of contact welding with the trunk panel. Clean and prepare the mating surfaces, apply a layer of electroplastic paste or zinc-containing primer to the contact welding points to prevent corrosion. Prepare and install a new semi-casing, pre-assemble. After welding the inner half casing and installing the wing panel, restore the protective coating of the bottom and apply a bead of sealant to the junctions of the mudguard with the field and the luggage compartment panel.
