Partial replacement of door thresholds (Audi 100 C3)

Saw out the deformed part and cut off the areas inaccessible to the saw with a chisel. Straighten around the perimeter and prime the bare metal with a zinc-containing primer. Prepare a patch (lap welding) and check the conformity of the patch and hole shapes. Prime the welding area with conductive mastic to protect against corrosion. Weld the patch using gas welding in a neutral environment at the ends and contact welding - the upper and lower conjugation. Clean and tin the seams. Restore the protective floor coating. Restore the paint and varnish coating. Treat the closed cavities with liquid wax.

Note. When replacing the threshold completely, it is necessary to remove the wing from the corresponding side. Align and adjust the edge of the bottom welded to the threshold. Weld the joint with an arc in a protective environment.
