As a rule, replacement of welded structural members is not carried out until it has been established that there is no deformation of the floor of the body.
Usually the most difficult to detect minor deformations of the body resulting from moderate impacts on the front or rear of the car. In this case, it is necessary to check the dimensions of the body floor on the slipway. Below is a brief description of the repair and calibration equipment of some Western companies.
Facom-Celette equipment
Installation (catalog number 313.508) The French company Facom Ce-lette allows you to perform the necessary checks without removing the chassis components and assemblies and includes the following sets of devices:
- 41.42.V38 for checking the rear attachment points of the front subframe (centerers);
- 43.44.V39 to check the position of the rear suspension arms;
- «Celette integral», consisting of four attachment points (for each car model its own set), a set of rulers, sliders, probes and tips;
- «Celette WX 2000», consisting of a set of adjustable in three coordinates, which allows you to perform all measurements without making templates.
The Facom-Celette slipway can be used with two types of measuring devices that allow you to perform control measurements without removing and with removing chassis components and assemblies:

Each measuring device is accompanied by a set of technological cards containing all the necessary information about the tool used and control dimensions.
The Facom-Celette slipway consists of a rigid, strictly horizontal base, fixed or free-standing. Traverses are attached to this base by means of bolts, on which a set of special probes is installed, selected depending on the model of the car. If it is necessary to perform the correct work that requires high compression or tension forces, the car must be fixed on the slipway by means of special attachment points and additionally set relative to the horizontal axis.
Mounting kits for Audi 100 cars manufactured in 1983 and later have part number WM 377.320.

When checking the dimensions of the body floor with the removal of the front chassis components and assemblies, do the following:
- remove the front wheels;
- unscrew the rear subframe mounting bolts to replace them with tool 15 (operation must be performed sequentially on each side);
- lower the car onto the calibration plate: fixtures 15 must enter holes 13 and 14;
- Lock fixtures 15 with L12 washer and HM 12x15 bolt.
When checking the dimensions of the floor of the body with the removal of the rear components and chassis units, do the following:
- remove the rear wheels;
- unscrew the bolts of the rear suspension arms;
- on the right side of the car, unscrew the bolts securing the electric fuel pump and move it back;
- fasten fixtures 43 and 44 under the vehicle using bolts V39;
- lower the vehicle onto the leveling plate.
When checking the dimensions of the floor of the body with the removal of all components and assemblies of the chassis, perform the following operations.
In front of the car:
- install a set of tools 13, 41, 42, V38 and 14, 41, 42, V38 under the vehicle;
- lower the vehicle onto the leveling plate.
Note. Devices 13 or 14 can be removed without lifting the vehicle after removing the bolt V38 complete with washer and centering 42.
At the rear of the vehicle: carry out the same operations as when checking without dismantling the assemblies and chassis, while installing the E11 spacer to compensate for the difference in thickness.
