1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the central console. If you only need to make adjustments, go to step 8.
3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the starter lock and the gear selection panel illumination lamp.
4. Turn off bolts, remove the console from a fixing bracket.
5. Remove the cable clamp bolt and the nut securing the cable to the arm hanger.
6. Turn off bolts, remove a suspension bracket and assembly of the lever from a floor.
7. Unscrew the cable bracket from the transmission, remove the retaining ring, disconnect the end of the cable from the lever. Get the cable out from under the car.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, adjust the cable as follows. Move the gear selector fully forward to P (parking). Loosen the cable clamp bolt, move the lever on the transmission fully back to position P (parking). Tighten the cable terminal bolt with the tightening torque specified in Specifications. Lubricate the selector lever and cable pivot with molybdenum grease.
