Note: Measurement of cylinder diameters on such a stand may lead to errors.
If the stand is not available, you can disassemble the engine by installing it on a solid workbench, or, at worst, on the floor. Be extremely careful and attentive, do not overturn or hit the engine while working without a stand.
If you are going to purchase a remanufactured engine, remove the external components and parts from the old engine for installation on a newly purchased engine. These components are listed below.
Petrol models
- A) Alternator with brackets and starter (ch. 5A).
- b) High voltage wires and spark plugs (ch. 1A or 5 B).
- V) Fuel Injection System Components (ch. 4A).
- G) All electrical sensors and actuators and motor wiring (ch. 4A and 5 B).
- d) intake and exhaust manifolds (ch. 4A and 4B).
- e) Oil dipstick and dipstick tube.
- and) engine mounts (ch. 2A).
- h) Flywheel or faceplate (ch. 2A).
- And) Clutch components (ch. 6).
Diesel models
- A) Alternator with brackets and starter (ch. 5A).
- b) injection pump, fuel injectors and glow plugs (ch. 5V).
- V) All components of the fuel system, including injection pump, sensors and actuators (ch. 4B).
- G) Vacuum pump (ch. 9).
- d) All electrical sensors and actuators, motor wiring (ch. 4B, 5V).
- e) Intake and exhaust manifolds and turbocharger (ch. 4B and 4B).
- and) Engine oil dipstick and dipstick tube.
- h) engine mounts (ch. 2B).
- And) Flywheel or faceplate (ch. 2B).
- To) Clutch (ch. 6).
All engines
Note: When removing engine attachments, pay attention to small parts that will be useful during assembly - gaskets, seals, spacers, washers, pins, bolts, etc.
If you purchase an incomplete engine (block assembled with crankshaft and piston group), then you also need to remove the head, pan, oil pump, timing drive (with covers and tensioner), auxiliary drive belts (with tensioners). water pump, thermostat housing with outlets, oil filter housing and, if provided, oil cooler.
If you plan to perform a complete overhaul of your engine, then it must be disassembled in the sequence indicated below, and then proceed in the following order:
- A) intake and exhaust manifolds (ch. 4).
- b) Timing belt. sprockets and tensioner and water pump (ch. Z).
- V) cylinder head (ch. 2A or 2B).
- G) Handwheel/faceplate (ch. 2A or 2B).
- d) Pallet (ch. 2A or 2B).
- e) Oil pump (ch. 2A or 2B).
- and) Pistons with connecting rods (see paragraph 7).
- h) Crankshaft (see paragraph 8).
