Withdrawal
1. Apply the handbrake and raise the front of the vehicle, install safety stands. Remove the bottom protective casing of the power unit.
2. Turn away nuts of fastening and remove the top cover of the engine.
3. Disconnect and remove the intake air duct leading from the front panel (hood latch bracket) to the air filter.
4. At the front of the engine, remove the small cover and the solenoid valve on the right side of the timing belt cover and set aside.
5. Transfer the weight of the motor to the hoist.
6. Place a basin under the pan, unscrew the drain plug and drain the engine oil - see chapter 1B. Clean the plug and, if necessary, replace the O-ring. Once the oil has drained, put the plug back in and tighten it. Remove the dipstick.
7. On models with air conditioning, mark the direction of rotation of the drive belt to correctly install on the rear. Loosen the bolts and move the tensioner pulley up to release tension on the drive belt. Pull the belt off the crankshaft, compressor and tensioner pulleys. Turn out bolts and remove a tensioner.
8. Remove the jet stop in front of the engine, unscrew the bolts from the longitudinal racks. Remove the jet bracket in front of the engine.
9. Cut off the plastic ties at the bottom of the right engine mount and release the starter wiring.
10. Turn away the bottom nuts of fastening of both support.
11. Make sure the motor is properly suspended from the hoist. Transfer the weight of the left and right subframes to the jack by placing a piece of plank between them. Mark the position of the subframes to maintain the wheel alignment after assembly. Turn out bolts of fastening of subframes. Remove the two front bolts first, then the rear. Lower the subframes together with the anti-roll bar to the floor.
12. Turn away bolts and remove an arm the engine/transmission.
13. Turn away bolts of fastening of the pallet. On manual transmission models, the rear bolts can be accessed through cutouts in the flywheel - turn it until it lines up with the cutouts in the bell housing.
14. Remove the pan with gasket. If pallet "has grown", tap it with a rubber mallet.
Installation
15. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the pallet and unit. Apply a small amount of sealant to the block mating surface at the front and rear gland housings.
16. Lay a new gasket on the pallet, attach the pallet to the block and wrap the bolts. Tighten the bolts to the prescribed torque in diagonal sequence.
17. Establish an arm of the block, tighten bolts of its fastening.
Note. If the pallet is installed on the engine removed from the car and when removing, make sure that the rear surface of the block / gearbox bracket is filled with an adapter plate. If the adapter plate is removed, leave 0.8 mm (plate thickness) and install the bracket so that it protrudes 0.8 mm beyond the rear support of the cylinder block.
18. The remaining part of the assembly procedure is the reverse of the removal procedure. Tighten screw connections to the prescribed torques. On models with air conditioning, install and tension the compressor drive belt. Fill the engine with the correct type and quantity of oil.
