Pallet — removal and installation (Audi 80 B3)

1. Apply the parking brake, then jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on axle stands placed under the bottom.

2. Unscrew and remove the mudguard from under the engine.

3. Place a suitable container under the pan, then unscrew the plug and drain the engine oil. After cleaning, install and tighten the plug.

4. Support the weight of the engine with a winch.

5. Unscrew and remove the front transmission cover.

6. Unscrew the lower nuts of the engine mounting bracket.

7. Support the front suspension crossmember with a jack, then loosen the front crossmember mounting bolts and lower the crossmember slightly.

8. Unscrew and remove the pan bolts.

9. Remove the pan and gasket.

10. Clean the surface and the joints of the tray and block.

11. Position the new gasket on the pan, then position it against the block and install the bolts. Do not use compound. Tighten the bolts in a diagonal sequence to the specified torque Specification.

12. The remaining procedure is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Fill the engine with oil.
