2. Drain the cooling system as described in Section 2.
3. Remove intake and exhaust manifolds (see Section 3), high voltage wires and spark plugs (Section 4).
4. Remove the camshaft and tappets as described in Chapter 11. Remove generator (Section 12).
5. Unscrew the earth cable from the cylinder head.
6. Disconnect the heater hose, upper and bypass hoses from the cylinder head.
7. Disconnect wiring from temperature sensors.
8. Unscrew and remove the back cover of the toothed drive belt.
9. Turn off bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on one turn in an order, the return shown on Fig. 1.2.
10. Remove the cylinder head bolts together with their washers.
11. Lift the cylinder head off the block. If it's stuck, loosen it with a wooden mallet. Do not insert the lever into the gasket joint.
12. Remove the cylinder head gasket from the block.
13. Completely clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and block.
14. Position the new gasket on the block with the words 'OBEN TOP' facing up. Make sure the location pins are in place.
15. Gently lower the head onto the block. Do not use any compound when connecting the cylinder head.
16. Insert the cylinder head bolts together with their washers, tighten them by hand.
17. In the sequence shown in Fig. 1.2, tighten all bolts to the stage 1 torque given in the Specifications. Then tighten them with stage 2 torque and finally tighten them half a turn (180°) endless (allowed twice 90°).
18. Establish a back covering of a gear belt of a drive. Insert and tighten the bolts.
19. Reconnect wiring to temperature sensors.
20. Connect heater hose, top hose, and bypass hose.
21. Install a ground loop. Insert and tighten the bolt.
22. Install the generator (Section 12).
23. Install the camshaft and tappets as described in Chapter 11.
24. Install High Voltage Wires and Spark Plugs (Section 4), intake and exhaust manifolds (Section 3).
25. Fill the cooling system (Section 2).
26. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
