3. Unscrew the bleeder screw located on the heater return hose that runs from the bulkhead to the coolant pipe on the left side of the engine.

5. Clamp the bleed nipple when the coolant flows out without air bubbles.
6. Add coolant to the level mark below the seam (the "minimum" mark on some models).
All engines
7. Install and tighten the expansion tank cap.
8. Start the engine, set it to fast idle until the electric cooling fan comes on, indicating the engine has reached normal operating temperature.
9. Turn off the engine, then check the coolant level in the expansion tank. At normal operating temperature, the coolant should be slightly above the level mark, but when the engine is cold, it should be at the level mark.
10. If necessary, allow the engine to cool, then add coolant to the mark. Install and tighten the filler cap.
