Attention! Wait at least 30 minutes after installing the hydraulic tappets (better delay the launch until the morning), to pushers "got up", otherwise the pistons may hit the valves.
1. Hydropushers are self-adjusting devices that do not require maintenance.
2. If the hydraulic tappets become too noisy, they can be checked as follows.
3. Warm up the engine to operating temperature. Raise the engine speed to 2500 min-1 for a couple of minutes.
4. If hydraulic tappet noise occurs on short trips, replace the oil pump non-return valve located at the rear of the oil filter housing. To do this, you will have to remove the oil filter, dismantle the cylinder block housing and remove the gasket. Using a suitable wrench, unscrew the valve and tighten the new one to the prescribed torque. Install the housing with the new filter.
5. If the pushers knock all the time, you need to find out which one is worn out. Stop the engine and remove the valve cover as described in paragraph 7.
6. Rotate the camshaft by grasping the center bolt of the crankshaft pulley with the head until the cams of the first cylinder look up - both valves are closed.
7. Use a non-metallic tool to press the pusher down, then measure the stroke of the pusher with a feeler gauge. If the pusher stroke is more than 0.2 mm before the valve opens, the pusher must be replaced.
8. Removal and installation of pushers is described in chapter 2B (disassembly and repair of the cylinder head).
