Instructions. Hydraulic tappets cannot be repaired. Irregular noises in the valve mechanism when starting the engine are acceptable.

Start the engine and leave it running until the coolant fan starts to operate. Increase the speed to approximately 2500 rpm for 2 minutes, and perform a test drive if necessary.

Instructions: If irregular valve noises disappear but reappear from time to time during short trips, this indicates a faulty oil check valve. Installation location: in the oil filter. The oil check valve cannot be replaced separately.

If the hydraulic tappets are still making noise, then it is necessary to determine the faulty tappets as follows: remove the cylinder head cover, turn the crankshaft so that the cam of the tappet being checked is at the top; to do this, set the transmission to 4th gear and roll the transmission forward with the ignition off.

Determine the clearance between the cam and the tappet by pressing down on the tappet with a wooden…

Determine the clearance between the cam and the tappet by pressing down on the tappet with a wooden or plastic click. If a 0.20 mm thick feeler gauge fits between the cam and the tappet: replace the hydraulic tappet.

Instructions. After installing the camshaft, the engine must not be started for approximately 30 minutes. The hydraulic tappets must be settled (otherwise the valves will touch the pistons). After working on the valve mechanism, turn the engine by hand at least 2 revolutions to ensure that none of the valves are in contact with the piston.
