Instruction. Hydraulic tappets cannot be repaired. Irregular noises in the valve mechanism are acceptable when starting the engine.
Start the engine and keep it running until the coolant fan comes on. Increase engine speed to approx. 2500 rpm for 2 minutes, test drive if necessary.
Instruction. If the irregular noises in the valves disappear, but appear from time to time during short trips, then this indicates a malfunction of the oil check valve. Installation location: in the oil filter. The oil check valve cannot be replaced separately.
If the hydraulic tappets are still making noise, then it is necessary to determine the faulty tappets as follows: remove the cylinder head cover, turn the crankshaft so that the cam of the tappet to be checked is at the top; To do this, by setting the 4th gear, roll back a / and forward with the ignition off.
Determine the gap between the cam and the pusher, to do this, press down on the pusher with a wooden or plastic click. If a feeler gauge 0.20 mm thick passes between the cam and the tappet: Replace the hydraulic tappet.
Instruction. After installing the camshaft, the engine must not be started for about 30 minutes. Hydraulic tappets must be deposited (otherwise the valves will come into contact with the pistons). After working on the valve train, rotate the engine by hand at least 2 revolutions to make sure that no valve is in contact with the piston.
