Remove the strip under the headlights (see chapter "Body elements").
Remove the two mounting bolts from the top of the upper front crossmember of the engine compartment.
Pull the headlight forward.
Loosen the cap on the back of the headlight, disconnect the multi-pin plug and disconnect the parking light wire.
Pull the wiring harness with the sheath through the hole in the headlight housing.
Remove the wire harness in the casing through the hole in the headlight housing.
Disassembling the headlight
If the headlight glass is damaged or the reflector is dull, there is no need to replace the entire headlight at once. Both parts can be purchased separately.
Remove the rubber gasket from the diffuser.
Open all fastening latches around the headlight glass.
Remove the diffuser and sealing rubber.
Carefully pry up the chrome trim around the reflector and pull it out.
Main headlight elements:
1 - diffuser;
2 - rubber seal;
3 - reflector with lamp housing;
4 - mounting brackets;
5 — headlight range adjustment motor;
6 — cap;
7 - decorative overlay;
8 — headlight housing.
Turn both adjustment screws until the reflector can be lifted by hand.
The reflector is removed from the lower mounting point (connection at the headlight range adjustment motor) as follows:
Insert a thin screwdriver into the hole in the back of the headlight housing and press the engine control rod down from the locking socket.
After assembly, adjust the headlight.
