Constantly checking
Turn on the ignition and test all lighting devices one by one:
Parking light (side lights), low beam, built-in fog lights (if any), high beam.
Front direction indicators on the right, left, and hazard warning lights.
Rear lights and number plate light, as well as rear fog light.
Rear direction indicators, hazard warning lights, reversing lights.
Brake lights, but you will need an assistant for this.
Tip: Attentive drivers check the lighting system on almost every night drive. A burned-out headlight bulb is noticeable by a narrow strip of light in front of the car. When driving in a column, the bumper or paintwork of the car in front reflects the light from the headlights and front turn signals. In front of a light wall, you can check, without getting out of the car, whether the two light points are visible and whether the turn signal is flashing orange. You can also use a light wall to check the rear lights.
