Removing the bottom protection of the engine compartment
The underbody protection lining of the engine compartment contributes to the good aerodynamic coefficient of the Audi body as well as noise reduction. Unfortunately, it must be removed to perform engine repairs.
Left: Bracket (1) bumper secured with two bolts (arrows) on the spar (2) body. This holder can be moved up or down to adjust the height.
Right: bumper (3) removed from the vehicle. Now you can clearly see the positions of both brackets (1 and 2).
Raise the car in front, fix.
Screw out two plastic screws on the right and left side of the wheel arches by 90°to the left (rotary lock).
On the rear edge of the casing under the engine, use a screwdriver to turn the three swivel locks 90°counterclockwise (to the left).
Hang trim at front on bumper bracket.
Covering towards the back.
When installing, carefully insert the trim into the mountings at the bottom edge of the bumper. Then reinforce the sides.
It is easier to do this work together.
Removing the grille
Open the hood.
Loosen the three hexagon bolts at the bottom and top on the back side of the radiator grille.
Remove the spring clips under the upper bolts, remove the grille.
Installation: fit the spring clips at the top edge and lightly tighten the bolts (6 Nm). Insert the radiator grille into the mounting hole.
Tighten the screws on the bottom edge (6 Nm).
Removing the bar under the headlights
Open the hood.
Loosen the cross-head bolt on the inside of the bar.
Carefully move the outer side of the bar from the fasteners to the side - the bar is only inserted in this place.
On vehicles with a headlight washer system, remove the injector telescopes by hand and detach the injector lacquer from the spring clips. Finally, remove the bar from the spray tube.
