Removal the lower engine compartment protection
The lower engine compartment protective paneling contributes to the good aerodynamic coefficient of the Audi body, as well as to noise dampening. Unfortunately, it must be removed to perform engine repairs.
Left: The bumper bracket (1) is secured with two bolts (arrows) to the body side member (2). This holder can be moved up or down to adjust the height.
Right: The bumper (3) has been removed from the car. The positions of both brackets (1 and 2) can now be clearly seen.

Raise the car from the front and secure it.
On the right and left in the wheel arches, unscrew two plastic bolts to the left by 90° (rotary lock).
On the rear edge of the trim under the engine, use a screwdriver to turn the three rotary locks 90° counterclockwise (to the left).
Hang the trim in front on the bumper mount.
The trim is facing backwards.
When installing, carefully insert the trim into the fasteners at the bottom of the bumper edge. Then secure the sides.
It's easier to do this job together.
Removal the radiator grille
Open the hood.
Unscrew the three hex bolts at the bottom and top on the back side of the radiator grille.
Remove the spring clips under the upper bolts and remove the radiator grille.
Installation: install spring clips along the upper edge and tighten bolts slightly (6 Nm). Insert radiator grille into installation hole.
Tighten the bolts on the lower edge (6 Nm).
Removal the strip under the headlights
Open the hood.
Loosen the Phillips head bolt on the inside of the bar.
Carefully move the outer side of the strip away from the fasteners to the side – the strip is only inserted in this place.
In cars with a headlight washer system, remove the nozzle telescopes by hand and disconnect the lacquered coating of the nozzles from the spring clips. Finally, remove the bar from the spray tube.
