Withdrawal
The engine is installed.
Remove air duct from turbocharger. Remove toothed belt. Hold crankshaft gear with support -3415- and remove it.
Release screws -1...10-. Raised front seal. flange and remove it. Press out the oil seal with the flange removed.
Installation
Install in reverse order, placing a rag on the open part of the oil pan. Carefully remove sealant residue from cylinder block and oil sump. Remove sealant residue from seals. flange, e.g. with a rotating plastic brush. Clean the landing surfaces; they must be free of oil and grease. Cut off the tip of the tube at the front mark (hole diameter approx. 2 mm). Apply a thin bead of sealant -arrows- to adjacent surfaces between cylinder block and sump.
Apply a bead of sealant -arrow- to the clean seating surface of the seal. flange as shown. Thickness of sealant bead -arrow-: 2... 3 mm.
Instruction. The sealant bead must not be thicker than 3 mm, otherwise excess sealant may enter the oil pan and clog the strainer in the oil intake pipe.
Apply a thin layer of sealant to the lower seating surface of the flange -shaded surface-. The sealing flange must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the sealant. Carefully fit the seal. flange on the centering sleeves of the cylinder block. Tighten the bolts. Install the crankshaft seal on the side of the belt pulleys. Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing).
Instruction. The hoses and pipes of the air pressurization system must be cleaned of oils and grease before installation. Never use lubricants.
Tightening torque: Sealing flange to cylinder block: 15 Nm.
