Play in the steering mechanism can be eliminated by adjustment if the wear of the steering rack is still small.
Set the wheels to a straight position.
Ask an assistant to turn the steering wheel slightly from the center position to one side and the other - you will hear a knocking or rattling sound.
At this time, slowly and carefully turn the adjusting bolt (illustration below) clockwise (screw in), until the crackling noise disappears.
Test drive: the steering should not be heavy in any position, much less stick. It should return to the straight-ahead position by itself.
If this does not happen, loosen the bolt by 15° and carry out a test check again.
If necessary, check again.
If there is still play in the steering when driving straight, the steering gear should be replaced.
