Execution order
1. Place the wheels straight.
2. Have your assistant turn the steering wheel left and right around the center position – you will hear a knocking or clicking sound.
3. At the same time, carefully and slowly turn the set bolt to the right (screwing) until the clicking noises inside the car disappear.
4. Test drive: the steering should not be difficult to move in any position, much less jam. Otherwise, replace the steering gear.
Replacing the steering gear dust seal
The steering gear cuff can be replaced with the steering gear installed.
1. Remove the tie rod end.
2. Push through the hose clamps.
3. Remove the old dust seal.
4. Slide on the new O-ring and new dust seal.
5. Install new hose clamps.
6. Secure the tie rod.
