Handle under the steering column

Handle under the steering column

The steering wheel can be infinitely adjusted in height and length. Pull the handle - shown by the arrow -. Set the steering wheel to the desired position. Press the handle toward the steering column until it locks.

Starting and stopping the engine using a "chip key"

Center console: button «Start/Stop»

Center console: button "Start/Stop"

By means of a button "Start/Stop" the ignition is turned on and the engine starts.

Manual transmission: fully depress the clutch pedal and set the gearshift lever to neutral. Automatic transmission: press the brake pedal and set the gearshift lever to position "P" or "N". Press the button "Start/Stop" - the engine will start. Diesel engines may start with a delay in low temperature conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to press the clutch or brake pedal until the engine starts. The control lamp of the pre-heating system lights up, which indicates pre-heating.

When you press the button "Start/Stop" without pressing the clutch or brake pedal, the ignition is turned on, and after pressing it again, it is turned off. In diesel cars, when the ignition is turned on, a pre-start warm-up is performed. If the engine does not start immediately, then after about 10 seconds you should stop trying to start it and try again after about half a minute. After a cold start, the engine may run loudly for a short time until the required oil pressure is established in the valve clearance hydraulic compensation system. This is a normal phenomenon that should not be a cause for concern.

Driver instructions on the instrument cluster display

No key identified (key not identified)

This instruction for the driver appears when the button is pressed "Start/Stop", if there is no radio key in the car, or the system does not identify the key. For example, the system may not identify the radio key if it is covered with an object that screens the radio signal (for example, an aluminum case). Also, electronic devices such as mobile phones can interfere with radio signals.

Press brake pedal to start engine (to start the engine, press the brake pedal)

This instruction for the driver appears on a car with an automatic transmission if, when pressing the button "Start/Stop" the brake pedal is not depressed to start the engine. The engine can only be started when the brake pedal is depressed.

Press clutch pedal to start engine (to start the engine, press the clutch pedal)

This instruction for the driver appears on a vehicle with a manual transmission if, when pressing the button "Start/Stop" the clutch pedal is not depressed to start the engine. The engine can only be started when the clutch pedal is depressed.

Engage N or P to start engine (to start the engine, set the control lever to the "N" or "P" position)

This driver instruction appears when starting the engine if the automatic transmission gearshift lever is not in the "N" or "P" position. The engine can only be started if the gearshift lever is in these positions.

Key not In vehicle! (there is no key in the car!)

If the indicator light comes on and this instruction for the driver appears, this means that the radio key was removed from the car while the engine was running. If the radio key is no longer in the car, it will be impossible to turn on the ignition and start the engine after the engine is turned off. In addition, the car will not be able to be locked from the outside.

Shift to P, otherwise the vehicle can roll away. Doors do not lock if lever is not in P (set the gearshift lever to the "P" position, otherwise the vehicle can roll away spontaneously; the doors close only in position "P")

This driver instruction appears for safety purposes together with a warning signal if the gearshift lever is turned off using the button when the ignition is switched off "Start/Stop" is not in the "P" position. Set the gearshift lever to the "P" position, otherwise the car may roll away spontaneously. In addition, it is impossible to lock the car using the locking sensor located in the door handle or by means of a remote radio control.

Con venience key defective! Use ignition lock ("chip key" is faulty: use the ignition lock)

This instruction for the driver appears if the engine needs to be started or stopped using something other than a button "Start/Stop", but using the ignition key.

Steering lock (steering wheel lock)

The steering is locked if the driver's door is opened without the key in the ignition. Locking the steering makes it more difficult to steal the car.

Note: If the driver's side door is opened while the ignition is on, a buzzer sounds and the text message Ignition is on appears on the instrument panel display (ignition on). Turn off the ignition.
