Note: The power steering reservoir is also used by the self-leveling rear suspension system (where available).
Before starting
- Make sure the car is on a level surface (not slanted). On models equipped with a rear suspension self-levelling system, make sure the vehicle is not loaded.
- Start the engine and let it idle, turn the steering wheel slowly from one extreme position to the other 2-3 times, and set the front wheels to a straight ahead position, then turn off the engine.
Safety!
- The need for frequent topping up indicates a leak that needs to be identified and repaired immediately.
1. The power steering hydraulic reservoir is located on the left side of the engine compartment. Slowly unscrew and remove the filler cap, which includes the dipstick.
2. Make sure the fluid level is between the MIN and MAX marks on the dipstick, preferably near the MAX mark. If necessary, wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth, then replace it and remove it again.
3 If topping up is required, add the type of fluid specified in the Specifications until the level reaches the MAX mark. Finally, install and tighten the cover.
