2. If it is necessary to disassemble the intermediate reverse shaft, remove the spring clip, unscrew the bolt, and remove the mounting plate spring (remember the orientation) and reverse gear synchronizer rings with pins.
3. Disengage the reverse gear transmission lever, remove the locking key and spring. Remove the reverse gear intermediate gear.
4. To check the wear of the reverse intermediate gear and synchronizer, manually press the synchronizer away from the gear and check the gap "a" with a feeler gauge (Fig. 6.38). Replace the synchronizer if the gap is greater than the specified value Specifications.

5. Reassemble in reverse order, adjust the transmission lever. To do this, fasten the transmission lever with bolts and press it to the middle of the casing. Continue to compress the bolt until it enters the recess of the lever.
6. It is important that the threads of the lever bushing and the bolt are properly aligned. To do this, push the lever away from the bolt, loosen the bolt until the threads just engage the threads of the bushing. Tighten the bolt to the torque specified in Specifications, then engage the reverse gear several times. Also check that the locking key is installed correctly.
7. When replacing the gear mounting housing, it is important to select the correct output shaft bearing preload gasket (Fig. 6.40).

8. The outer ring of the input shaft bearing can be removed using a drift of suitable diameter.
9. When installing a new bearing outer race, it is important to place it at the correct depth ("a" in Fig. 6.41).

Gear Locks - Removal and Installation
10. The mechanism locks can be removed by pulling out the two plugs on the side of the gearbox and releasing the plungers and springs.
11. Install the spring and plunger. Do not insert the plug until you have installed the appropriate shift rod, then screw in the plug with the paper gasket underneath.
12. The locking key retainer is located under the plug at the top of the rear of the housing. Remove the plug and take out the spring and retainer. The locking key may also come out.
13. Install the locking keys by holding them with a magnet and inserting them through the hole in the shift rod. Install the shift rods, insert the detent plunger and spring. Screw in the plug and tighten it.
14. If the plug is steel, a sealing gasket must be placed underneath it. If the plug is aluminum, it can be installed without a gasket.
