2. If it is necessary to disassemble the reverse intermediate shaft, remove the spring clip, unscrew the bolt, remove the spring of the mounting plate (remember the orientation) and reverse gear synchronizer rings with pins.
3. Disengage the reverse gear lever, remove the lock key and spring. Remove the reverse idler gear.
4. To check for wear on the reverse idle gear and synchronizer, press the synchronizer away from the gear with your hands and check the gap "a" probe (Pic. 6.38). Replace the synchronizer if the clearance is greater than given in the Specifications.
5. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order, adjust the transmission lever. To do this, bolt the transfer lever and push it towards the middle of the casing. Continue compressing the bolt until it engages in the notch in the lever.
6. It is important that the threads of the lever bushing and the bolt are properly aligned. To do this, push the lever away from the bolt, loosen the bolt until the threads just engage with the bushing threads. Compress the bolt with the tightening torque specified in the Specifications, «then engage the reverse gear several times. Also check that the locking key is installed correctly.
7. When replacing the gear carrier housing, it is important to select the correct output shaft bearing preload spacer (Pic. 6.40).
8. The input shaft bearing outer race can be removed using a suitable diameter drift.
9. When installing a new bearing outer race, it is important to place it at the correct depth ("A" on Fig. 6.41).
