1. Use a screwdriver to remove the ball studs on the gearbox housing. If this is difficult to do, first push the spring away from the release lever. Remove the plastic block from the rack (photo).
2. Pull the release bearing together with the lever from the guide sleeve, and remove along the gearbox input shaft.
3. Separate the release bearing from the lever (photo).
4. Turn the release bearing quickly by hand to check for smooth movement. In the event of any attempt at seizing or hard rotation, the bearing must be replaced. If it is to be reused, wipe it with a dry cloth; never wash the bearing in solvent, otherwise the internal lubricant will be removed.
5. Clean release lever, ball pin and guide bushing.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Lubricate the ball stud with molybdenum grease. Lubricate the surface of the release bearing that touches the diaphragm spring pins in the clutch housing. Install the spring on the release lever. Press release lever on ball stud until spring locks into position (photo).
