
2. Pull the release bearing together with the lever from the guide sleeve and remove it along the input shaft of the gearbox.
3. Separate the release bearing from the lever (photo).

4. Rotate the release bearing quickly by hand to check for smooth movement. If there is any attempt to jam or if it is difficult to rotate, the bearing must be replaced. If it is to be reused, wipe it with a dry cloth; never wash the bearing in solvent, otherwise the internal lubricant will be removed.
5. Clean the release lever, ball stud and guide bushing.
6. Installation is performed in the reverse order. Lubricate the stud with the ball end with molybdenum grease. Lubricate the surface of the release bearing that contacts the fingers of the diaphragm spring in the clutch housing. Install the spring on the release lever. Press the release lever onto the stud with the ball end until the spring is fixed in position (photo).
