1. It is preferable to drain the fluid from the system when the engine is cold. If this is not possible, place a cloth on the filler cap on the expansion tank and slowly unscrew it counterclockwise to relieve pressure. When all pressure has been released, remove the filler cap.
2. Turn on the heater on the panel.
3. On 4-cylinder engines, place a suitable container under the water pump, disconnect the lower hose and manifold heater return hoses from the water pump housing. Drain the fluid into the container.
4. On five-cylinder engines, place a suitable container under the connecting hose on the left side of the engine. Remove the bolt securing the heater return pipe to the engine block, and disconnect the pipe from the hose. Also disconnect the lower hose of the radiator reservoir in the thermostat housing. Drain the coolant into the container.
5. On 4-cylinder engines, disconnect the wires, loosen the fuel injection mode switch located on the cylinder head outlet housing.
