1. Drain the fluid from the system preferably when the engine is cold. If this is not possible, place a cloth over the filler cap on the expansion tank, slowly unscrew it counterclockwise to relieve pressure. When all pressure is released, remove the filler cap.
2. Turn on the heater on the panel.
3. On 4-cylinder engines, place a suitable container under the water pump, disconnect the lower hose and manifold heater return hoses from the water pump housing. Drain the liquid into a container.
4. On five-cylinder engines, place a suitable container under the connecting hose on the left side of the engine. Unscrew the bolt securing the heater return pipe to the cylinder block, disconnect the pipe from the hose. Also disconnect the lower hose of the radiator reservoir in the thermostat housing. Drain the refrigerant into a container.
5. On 4-cylinder engines, disconnect the wires, loosen the start fuel supply switch located on the cylinder head outlet casing.
