Release bearing replacement
A ball bearing is used as a release. The illustration shows a gearbox with a clutch release mechanism on the inside of the gearbox. Do not clean the bearing with grease-dissolving solvents if it is to be reused. When replacing, proceed in the following sequence:
Remove gearbox.
Press the release bearing brackets away from the bearing and pull off the bearing.
If the clutch release lever is to be removed (1), then you need to wring it out with a screwdriver from the ball head bolt.
Lubricate all bearing and moving surfaces of the release bearing (2) graphite lubricant.
Insert the release bearing into the clutch release lever and reinforce with a new oil seal (3).
Install gearbox.
Check the clutch after installing the gearbox (checkpoint). First of all, pay attention to "scratching" noise when shifting gears. The noise can be heard primarily when the reverse gear is engaged.
