The installed battery with a voltage of 12 V has 6 cans (cells), which consist of positive and negative plates that are in a solution of sulfuric acid. The task of the battery is to supply current to start the engine, lighting and other devices. The installed battery has a different capacity in accordance with the installed engine and additional equipment. You need to know exactly the capacity of the battery installed in your car. The operations described below should be carried out from time to time in order to increase battery life and keep it in good condition. These ABs are designated as unattended, i.e. under normal operating conditions, there is no need to top up the battery. Sometimes it may happen, however, that the electrolyte level in the battery drops.
The battery and surrounding parts must always be kept clean. The surface of the AB must always be dry, as otherwise, leakage currents may occur between the banks, due to which the self-discharge of the battery occurs.
The electrolyte level in the battery should be at the top line on the battery case. Use distilled water to top up.
In the cold season, the battery should not be in an uncharged state, because. otherwise it will freeze. A weakly charged battery will freeze earlier than a charged one, i.e. it must be properly cared for.
