The Audi 100 has two different types of sliding sunroof:
Electric sliding sunroof with key control. If the sliding sunroof in the vehicle is installed with four electric windows, then closing occurs by holding the key longer in the "close" position, then all windows and the sliding sunroof are closed. A push function is combined for quickly opening and closing the sunroof by briefly pressing the switch. The function occurs when the ignition is on, and after the ignition is turned off, the driver's door is briefly opened and closed again.
The electrically sliding sunroof stops in the previously selected position. The sunroof automatically comes to the position selected by the rotary switch, without having to press the switch. It functions when the ignition is on and for 30 seconds after it is turned off.
Troubleshooting
You can check it yourself: depending on the version of the sliding sunroof, fuse number 8 in the fuse box and thermal fuses in the plug socket A1 and A3 of the additional relay block 1 (see chapter "Body electrical system").
With a normal sliding sunroof, you can check the relay (along with the sliding roof engine) (for checking the relay, see the chapter "Body electrical system"). Check the voltage supply:
With normal sliding sunroof (without windows) in the relay block from the plug socket 1 in the additional relay block II red and red-black wires.
With sliding sunroof with comfort closing system in the relay block from plug socket ½ in the additional relay block check II (red-blue and red-black wires).
For sunroof with preselection function, check the red cable in the plug connection of the control units (in the sunroof motor).
Emergency action
How the sliding sunroof closes in the event of an electrical failure is explained in the illustrated text below.
