Withdrawal
1. Disconnect wire from «negative» battery terminals.
2. Disconnect the two hoses from the oil cooler and plug their openings.
3. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission.
4. Hang out the engine.
5. Remove starter (cm. subsection 12.1.4.1).
6. Unscrew the bolts securing the torque converter to the flywheel one by one through the holes for the starter, scrolling the crankshaft.
7. Loosen the bolts securing the inner CV joints of the axle shafts.
8. Remove muffler exhaust pipe with bracket.
9. Disconnect return spring 1.
10. Disconnect throttle control link 6 from gearbox.
11. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever.
12. Remove the oil drain pipe, after substituting a container for the drained oil under the gearbox.
13. Loosen the nuts securing the gearbox to the front axle
14. Raise the gearbox a little.
15. Loosen the lower gearbox-to-engine bolts.
16. Remove the gearbox, making sure that the torque converter does not fall out of the clutch housing.
17. Fix the torque converter in the clutch housing.
Installation
1. Install the gearbox, making sure that the torque converter remains in place in the clutch housing. The correct installation of the torque converter in the clutch housing is determined by dimension a, which should be about 30 mm.
2. Tighten the lower gearbox-to-engine bolts.
3. Install the gearbox mounts to the front suspension beam.
4. Install the transmission oil filler pipe.
5. Connect the shift cable to the shift lever.
6. Install the throttle control rod.
7. Install return spring.
8. Install the muffler exhaust pipe with the bracket.
9. Connect the front wheel drives.
10. Screw in turn the bolts securing the torque converter to the flywheel through the holes for the starter, scrolling the crankshaft.
11. Install starter.
12. Connect the speedometer cable.
13. Connect hoses to oil cooler.
14. Add coolant to the required level.
15. Pour oil into the gearbox.
