Vehicles with rear drum brakes
Remove the wheel from the desired side.
Remove the cap, cotter pin 1 (see photo) and remove the toothed stop 2.
Removing the rear wheel hub: 1 - cotter pin; 2 - toothed stopper; 3 - lock washer
Unscrew the hex nut and remove the lock washer 3.
Using a screwdriver through the threaded hole for the wheel bolt, feed up the automatic adjustment bar between the pads and the drum.
Remove the hub, made integral with the drum, so that the inner races of the bearings do not fall out.
Install the hub in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- when installing the hub, put multipurpose grease in it;
- adjust the clearance in the hub bearings and replace with a new cotter pin.
Vehicles with rear disc brakes
Remove the wheel from the desired side.
Remove the caliper assembly from the shoe guide and hang it to the body on a technological hook without disconnecting the brake hose.
Remove the brake disc.
Remove the cap, remove the cotter pin and toothed stopper.
Loosen the hex nut and remove the lock washer.
Carefully remove the hub so that the inner races of the bearings do not fall out.
Install the hub in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- put multipurpose grease into the hub;
- adjust the clearance in the hub bearings and replace with a new cotter pin.
Rear wheel hubs: 1 - until January 1988; 2 - since January 1988
