Torque from the gearbox and final drive is transmitted to the wheels via four drive shafts. Each shaft is inserted into the wheel hub and secured with a nut.
Cardan shaft connects the gearbox to the final drive.
Because cardan shaft is a balanced unit, dirt must not stick to it. When lifting the car for maintenance, it is advisable to clean it cardan shaft and check its technical condition. Whenever cardan shaft removed, to prevent imbalance it should be installed in the same position.
Signs of a faulty driveshaft are usually noise or vibration when the vehicle is moving.
